2012
Pioneering Vision
In 2012, Thilan Wijesinghe founded TWC with a ground-breaking vision to synergistically combine his extensive expertise in investment banking, public-private partnerships (PPPs) and real estate development. With a remarkable track record of executing PPP transactions in Sri Lanka since 1996 and creating significant value in diverse private and State organizations he has headed and co-founded, Thilan set out to establish TWC as a pioneering company in delivering transformational solutions and creating long-term value for clients.
2015-2019
International
Between 2015 and 2019, TWC, while growing its local client base, expanded its services beyond Sri Lanka, successfully executing assignments and transactions in Nepal, Bangladesh and Malta. During this period, a major portion of advisory work was on real estate linked advisory transactions including Special Economic Zones and cross-border M&A.
2020-2023
Adoption of Value-chain Approach
The period from 2020 to 2023 presented unprecedented challenges, but TWC demonstrated remarkable resilience and adaptability. Despite the global pandemic and economic uncertainties, the company grew its business significantly. TWC focused on tapping into multiple pools of capital through philanthropic funds, multilateral donors, development financing institutions, private equity and capital markets to optimize benefits to the value chain participants, ranging from community/grass-root level entrepreneurs and micro enterprises to medium to large scale corporates with strong linkages with community and local and international markets. The company also strengthened its focus on sustainable finance and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) advisory, helping clients navigate the evolving landscape and align their strategies with responsible investment practices. TWC was also successful in winning mandates for SOE reform and privatization
